(FARGO) – A man has been charged with a pair of felonies in Cass County District Court relating to an incident Saturday night in the City of Fargo.
According to court documents, at 11:23 p.m., Fargo Police were dispatched for a disturbance call. A resident of the home called 9-1-1 and reported that a male, identified as the suspect, Frankie Moran, was locked in a room and armed with a hammer.
It was reported that Moran struck another man twice in the head with a hammer after a physical altercation between the two men. The other man suffered head injuries that required medical attention, including staples to close the wounds.
Moran was alleged to have also struck another man, but the second individual refused to speak with police and did not seek medical attention.
Moran remained in the residence, refusing to exit the home as commands were broadcast over a PA system by Fargo Police indicating he was under arrest.
A search warrant was written and signed authorizing authorities to take Moran into custody and process the crime scene. The warrant was signed just after 2 a.m. Sunday.
Red River Valley SWAT was then called in to assist with the service of the warrant due to the possible presence of firearms.
Authorities made contact with Moran by phone, but he continued to refuse to exit the home. At 3:20 a.m., SWAT breached a window and introduced a chemical irritant into the home, and eventually breached several of the windows to the home for the purpose of introducing chemical irritant in order to get Moran into custody.
He continued to refuse to exit the home.
SWAT entered the home and physically took Moran into custody at 5:19 a.m. Sunday morning.
Moran has been charged with aggravated assault-domestic violence and preventing arrest.
He remains incarcerated in the Cass County Jail and has been assigned bond in the amount of $25,000 cash or surety.
His next court date is set for October 2 at 9 a.m. in the Cass County Courthouse in Fargo. The hearing will be a preliminary hearing.
