Minnesota trooper faces new charges

(ELK RIVER, MINN) – New charges are filed against a Minnesota State Patrol trooper.

Jeremy Plonski, of Shakopee, was originally charged with allegedly producing child porn, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

On Friday, The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) says charges have been filed in state court in Scott County District Court for first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a victim under the age of 14. The charges are a result of an investigation by the FBI, the BCA and the Shakopee Police Department.

“The alleged sexual abuse this child had inflicted upon them is truly unbelievable,” Scott County Attorney Ron Hocevar said. “This office will pursue all potential charges and maximum penalties available to us to hold this individual accountable. I wish to thank all of the law enforcement agencies for their excellent work on bringing this individual in to face justice and protecting our residents, particularly our children.”

Plonski remains in federal custody at the Sherburne County Jail.
