MOORHEAD, MINN – Minnesota’s first recreational cannabis dispensary – not on tribal lands – is now open in Moorhead.
Waabigwan Mashkiki opened Saturday morning in the former JL Beers location at 2902 US-10.
It’s operated by the White Earth Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe.
The new Moorhead operation follows one that is already running in Mahnomen, which is on tribal land, and a soon-to-be-opened location in St. Cloud.
“The first time our flower medicine steps off the reservation,” the company wrote in a social media message. “A new chapter in a much older story. To everyone who’s been waiting, watching, hoping — we see you. We’re here.”
