MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Moorhead School Board unanimously approved a revised 2026 fiscal year budget which is $800,000 lower than June 2025 projections.
The new numbers from Moorhead Area Public Schools Director of Business Services Kam Wigenbach show revenue increased $1.4 million from the June numbers, but expenditures increased by $2.2 million.
Wigenbach said the majority of the change was because a $925,000 project to improve the roof at the Moorhead Sports Center was moved from 2027 to this year.
Because voters passed an operating referendum and a capital projects levy, the projected fiscal year 2027 budget is expected to see an increase of more than $6.2 million in property tax revenue.
