Moorhead Area Public Schools warns about fake school board endorsement mailer

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Moorhead Area Public Schools warns voters about a fake mailer saying the district has endorsed two school board candidates.

“As a neutral public entity, Moorhead Area Public Schools does not endorse or support any candidate running for the school board. This is a deeply troubling situation, and we are currently exploring legal and law enforcement options to identify and hold accountable those responsible for this fraudulent activity,” the district said.

Moorhead Area Public Schools said in a statement it encourages everyone to make their voice heard at the polls without interference or deception.

“The district remains committed to transparency, fairness and upholding the highest ethical standards during this election process. The district will continue to work closely with authorities to resolve this matter,” Moorhead Area Public Schools said.

Property taxes would go up by $137 next year on a home with a market value of $200,000 if the the levy passes on Election Day.
