Moorhead City Council Member Lisa Borgen runs for mayor

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Moorhead City Council Member Lisa Borgen announces her campaign for mayor saying she supports responsible economic development, sustainable growth, fiscal responsibility and delivering high-quality city services that benefits everyone.

“I am committed to thoughtful, data-driven decision-making and long-term planning that strengthens Moorhead and enhances the quality of life in our city,” Borgen said on her campaign website.

Borgen is from Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School and Minnesota State Moorhead. She was elected Clay County Attorney in 1998 and 2002 and was appointed by former Governor Tim Pawlenty to a district court judgeship. She was elected to the Moorhead City Council in 2024.

Social worker and founder of the nonprofit Midwest Family Support and Advocacy Kassi Sofferman is also running for mayor.
