Moorhead woman announces intent to run for mayor

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The first mayoral candidate has surfaced in Moorhead.

Kassi Sofferman says she’s running ‘because Moorhead deserves leadership that delivers change for the people.’

“My background in community work, volunteer service, and advocacy has shown me both the strengths of our city and the areas where we can improve,” a biography on her website said. “I’m stepping forward because I’m ready to put my expertise to work for Moorhead.”

The opening comes after current Mayor, Shelly Carlson, announced she’s seeking the House District 4A seat currently held by Heather Keeler, who is running for Congress.
