(Washington, DC) -- The leader of a major flight attendants union says unruly passengers are creating a "hostile environment" for the industry.

Association of Flight Attendants president Sara Nelson told the Washington Post incidents have been happening regularly and it "really chips away at people." FAA data shows there have been more than five-thousand incidents involving unruly passengers this year.

Nelson will testify on the subject during a House subcommittee hearing Tuesday.
