(Fargo, ND) -- People around the world are being asked to open their hearts and wallets on this Giving Tuesday.
The day is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, meant to encourage generosity. That includes donating to nonprofits and volunteering at local community centers.
The American Red Cross is also desperate for blood amid a severe shortage. Last year, nearly two and-a-half billion dollars was donated on this day.
