(Oxford, MI) --The parents of the Michigan school shooting suspect are being charged.

Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald says 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley's parents are facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter each. McDonald said the dad bought the gun on Black Friday that was later used in the shooting and Ethan allegedly posted "just got my new gun."

On the day of the shooting, Ethan's parents were called to a school meeting after a teacher reportedly found a note on Ethan's desk. The note was a drawing of a gun Ethan made, including a person getting shot with a laughing emoji. Ethan was in the meeting and the parents resisted immediately taking their son out of school and never checked to see if he had the gun in his backpack.

The teen is facing charges as an adult for allegedly killing four students and injuring seven other people. McDonald said she's seeking justice for the victims, adding no other parent or community should have to go through this.
