(Washington, DC) -- Lawmakers are crafting another short-term spending bill to avert a government shutdown on February 18th. That's when the government runs out of money.

House Democrats have introduced a continuing resolution to keep the government funded at current levels through March 11th.

House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro said it will give House and Senate negotiators more time to put together a bill that covers funding through September.
