(Ukraine) -- One American journalist is dead and another is hospitalized after an attack by Russian forces in Ukraine.
Award-winning journalist and filmmaker Brent Renaud was shot and killed in the town of Irpin, just west of Kyiv. The State Department confirmed his death on Sunday. Renaud was said to have been shot while in a car with American photographer Juan Arredondo, who is in the hospital with unknown injuries.
A Ukrainian official said Renaud died trying to "expose" the cruelty and ruthlessness of Russia. He was 50 years old.
