(Fargo, ND) -- Video game sales are set to fall annually for the first time in years.

The global games and services market is forecast to fall one-point-two percent this year, to 188-billion dollars.

The COVID pandemic was great for the gaming industry's financial health. The sector grew 26-percent from 2019 to last year, with a big lift in 2020 as people spent much of their time indoors.

Analysts say the prospect of a recession is wearing on sales.
