(Uvalde, TX) -- The police chief of the Uvalde, Texas school district could be out of a job before the weekend is over.

CNN reports a source close to discussions about Chief Pete Arredondo's fate said school district officials are expected to fire Arredondo when they meet on Saturday.

Arredondo has been under relentless criticism since the May 24th mass shooting that killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School. Arredondo apparently was in command of law enforcement officers as the shooting developed and he held them back for more than an hour before a Border Patrol agent killed the shooter.
