(Indianapolis, IN) -- Indiana is now the first state to pass an abortion ban after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in late June.

Under the new legislation approved Friday, abortions can be performed only at hospitals or outpatient centers in cases of rape and incest within ten weeks.

Other exceptions include protecting the life and physical health of the mother or if a fetus is diagnosed with a deadly anomaly.
