First trailer released for Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer"

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The first trailer is being released for the highly anticipated Christopher Nolan film "Oppenheimer."

The film will tell the story of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who's credited with creating the atomic bomb.

He was one of the primary contributors to the Manhattan Project, the government research program that focused on the creation of nuclear weapons.

Oppenheimer will be played by Cillian Murphy and the rest of the cast includes Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon.

"Oppenheimer" hits theaters on July 21st.
