(Cheyenne, WY) -- Some Wyoming lawmakers are pushing to end electric vehicle sales in the state.

A group of Republicans introduced a bill calling for a ban to take effect by 2035.

The measure says the ban would help safeguard Wyoming's oil and gas industries, adding that electric vehicles will hinder the state's ability to trade with other states.

It is unclear if the bill will pass, and if other states will consider similar legislation in the immediate future.
