PayPal planning to lay off 2,000 employees, 7% of workforce

(San Jose, CA) -- PayPal is planning to lay off two-thousand employees in the coming weeks.

The job cuts announced Tuesday amount to around seven-percent of the company's workforce. It's the latest in an ongoing round of job cuts in the tech industry.

Also on Tuesday, Workday announced plans to cut 525 jobs.

Over the past few weeks, Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce announced plans to lay off close to 30-thousand workers.
