(Siberia) -- Scientists have found a preserved brown bear almost 35-hundred years old in the frozen wilderness of eastern Siberia.

Reindeer herders first found the ancient female bear in 2020 sticking out of the permafrost.

A laboratory chief in eastern Siberia called it an "absolutely unique" find. He said the fact that the carcass has soft tissue means scientists can study its organs and examine its brain.

Genetic analysis shows the bear has the same mitochondrial DNA from the modern bears in the northeastern Russia.
