(Fargo, ND) -- Today your taxes are due, but if you haven't even started or aren't done, there's still hope.
If you're in a crunch, you need to file for an extension.
The key thing to keep in mind is to file your extension Tuesday. If you file for an extension, you need to file form 4868 on IRS.gov, which gives you an automatic extension for 6 more months, unitil October 6th.
The extension does not apply to payments owed. Those must be postmarked by Tuesday to avoid any penalties or interest.
