(Washington, DC)  --  Four Proud Boys members have been convicted of seditious conspiracy.

The Justice Department charged the men in connection to their roles in the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot. Seditious conspiracy is defined as a plot to overthrow the government, and is from the Civil War era. A jury did not reach a verdict for a fifth member of the group who was on trial.

The trial of the white nationalist group has been ongoing since December.
