White House: robust plan in place for end of Title 42

(Washington, DC)  --  The White House says it's doing everything it can to prepare for the expected influx of migrants at the southern border when Title 42 expires Thursday.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the administration is putting a "robust plan" into place that includes setting up processing centers and surging resources to the border.

She said ultimately Congress has failed to pass any meaningful immigration reform.

The pandemic-era Title 42 policy allowed the federal government to quickly expel migrants who arrived at the border claiming asylum.
