Blinken condemns attack on U.S. convoy in Nigeria

(Washington, DC)  --  Secretary of State Antony Blinken is condemning an attack by unknown assailants on a U.S. convoy in Nigeria.

Tuesday's attack left four people dead, including two U.S. consulate employees.

Blinken in a statement said a motive is not clear at this time but there's no indication it was a targeted attack against embassy officials specifically.

Officials say no U.S. citizens were in the convoy at the time.
