Governor Burgum sidesteps questions about Trump indictments; wants presidential campaign to focus on "real threats"

(Fargo, ND) -- While campaigning for president, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum says he has more important things to talk about than the indictments targeting former President Donald Trump.

"We jumped into this thing late. Very few people know us. It's important for us to spend any minute, valuable minute we have talking about the future, talking about our vision for the country, talking about the real threats to our country including China and Russia. The cold war we are in with China, the proxy war we are in with Russia. So we are just going to keep doing that," said Burgum.

Burgum gave that answer after he was asked by Hugh Hewitt if Trump could get a fair trial in Washington, D.C.

Burgum appeared on the Hugh Hewitt Show.
