Biden establishes White House Office of "Gun Violence Prevention"

(Washington, DC)  -  President Biden is establishing a first-of-its-kind office of gun violence prevention.

While speaking from the White House today, Biden said the office will centralize and coordinate efforts to reduce gun violence in America.

Biden noted firearms are the leading cause of death in the U.S. for children and teens.

The new office will be overseen by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden said he'll continue to pressure Congress to pass gun reform measures, including a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
