Trump's civil lawsuit trial to begin Monday in New York

(NEW YORK CITY) – Former President Donald J. Trump’s civil lawsuit, brought forward by the New York Attorney General Leticia James, will head to a New York courtroom on Monday.

POLITICO reports Trump “may attend the trial in person,” citing a plan revealed by lawyers for the 45th President of the United States last week.

POLITICO reports James is asking for a penalty of $250 million and a ban on Trump running businesses in New York.

In an e-mail to supporters, Trump said, “According to news reports, I will be attending the civil trial in New York tomorrow where an anti-Trump judge is attempting to bring down the Trump Organization and financially break me.”
