(Fargo, ND) – Cell phones with the power on and those within range of an active cell tower will receive a test today.
The test will ensure that Wireless Emergency Alerts and the Emergency Alert System “continue to be effective ways to warn the public about emergencies, particularly those on the national level.”
The test will take place at approximately 1:20 p.m. today, and mobile phones will display the following message: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
