McCarthy shuts down rumors that he's resigning from Congress

(Washington, DC) -- Multiple media outlets reported earlier Friday that Rep. Kevin McCarthy plans to resign from Congress, just days after being removed as the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

Meeting with reporters on Capitol Hill this afternoon, McCarthy said the reports were untrue, saying he plans to serve until the end of next year and run for re-election.

He added that he wants to help Republicans expand the mjaority in the chamber.
