(Tel Aviv, Israel) -- Hamas will release at least 50 hostages in exchange for 150 Palestinians held by Israel.

This comes as Israel and the militant Palestinian group have agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza to allow hostages to be released and to let in aid. The truce is supposed to last for at least four days, with Israel saying it could be extended as long as ten hostages are freed each day after that. The first exchange will be for women and children in Israeli jails.

The deal will also let in trucks to bring fuel and medical supplies to Gaza, which has been under non-stop bombardment since attacks by Hamas on October 7th that killed well over 1,000 people in Israel.
