(Laconia, NH) — Governor Doug Burgum, hours after announcing he will not seek reelection for a third term as Governor in North Dakota, was in Laconia, New Hampshire, Monday night for a campaign event for former President Donald J. Trump. Burgum was joined by businessman Vivek Ramaswamay and US Senator Tim Scott (R-South Carolina).

“When I became Governor, it was the same night that Donald Trump was elected back in November of ’16,” Burgum said. “And the world changed.”

The Republican North Dakota Governor said that, since serving under both Trump and current President Joe Biden, “when Donald Trump was President, our nation was safe and our nation was prosperous.”

Burgum said Biden’s weakness has “led to war.”

“His weakness, and his appeasement, has led to our adversaries, like Iran and Russia, making hundreds of billions of dollars selling oil to China,” he said.

Burgum said Trump is the only candidate that “understands how to make our nation more secure, our nation more prosperous,” he said. “It’s the person who did it when he was President before — that’s Donald J. Trump.”

The campaign stop comes less than 12 hours before the New Hampshire Presidential primary election.
