House Intel chair issues statement on "serious national security threat"

(Washington, DC)  --  The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is issuing a cryptic statement "concerning a serious national security threat."

Ohio Republican Mike Turner today said his committee made information on the threat available to members of Congress.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told reporters today he plans to meet with Turner and other Members to discuss the issue, although he did not elaborate on what the threat is.

Sullivan said he reached out to Turner, but was surprised by the Republican's public announcement today.

Turner as requested that President Biden declassify the information relating to the threat so Congress and allies can openly discuss actions necessary to respond.
