(Undated)  --  Abortions are up in the U.S., despite recent bans in more than a dozen states since the repeal of Roe v. Wade.

A report out Tuesday from the pro-abortion rights group the Guttmacher Institute found that there were more than a million abortions nationwide in the 2023, a 10% jump since 2020 and the highest number in a decade. That number doesn't count abortions that took place outside the formal U.S. healthcare system.

States that share borders with states that have banned the procedure saw sharp increases.
