(Washington, D.C.) — A bipartisan plan to regulate artificial intelligence is being unveiled.
The road map was published Wednesday and calls for around 32-billion dollars in federal funds for research and development of the technology. Part of the plan calls for congressional committees to look at multiple aspects, like how AI could be harmful as well as safeguarding elections. The lawmakers involved in the initiative include Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Republican Senator Mike Rounds.
This comes as companies like OpenAI and Google announced new developments to its AI systems this week.
