No credible threat, weapons found in Warroad Schools after 9-1-1 call voicing potential threats

WARROAD, MINN – The Superintendent of Warroad Public Schools said the district was placed into a lockdown Thursday morning after a 9-1-1 call included a threat of potential violence.

Superintendent Shawn Yates told Flag Family News that the lockdown was in place for the district’s lone campus for more than an hour as law enforcement responded and investigated.

“I can confirm that there was no credible threat, and no ammunition or firearms were involved, found, or otherwise present,” Yates said in a statement.

After the investigation was fully completed, the district reopened its building and is currently functioning under normal schedules, he said.
