(FARGO) — One Fargo city commissioner says he feels the city’s office of diversity equity and inclusion may be coming to an end.
“So in the proposed budget that is not being eliminated, but it has to be approved by the city commission,” Commissioner Dave Piepkorn said. “I will predict that the approved budget, we will not have DEI any longer.”
Additionally, Piepkorn said the Downtown Engagement Center needs to close. That facility was funded by the federal government during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City Commission will approve the preliminary budget tonight.
