(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota's oil tax savings account has made a major investment.

The Legacy Fund North Dakota Growth Fund program has made its first investment in St. Louis-based venture capital firm Lewis and Clark AgriFood. 50 South Capital manages the Growth Fund and says the firm has a long track record of investing in the state.

The amount of the investment hasn't been disclosed, but the Growth Fund is allowed to invest up to 100-million dollars as part of its initial five-year investment period.
