(Minot, ND) -- Minot police are making changes to the city's traffic fines.
The city is doubling its fines as a way to increase the deterrent effect. The Minot City Council recently approved the request to increase traffic fines.
North Dakota law allows cities to raise their fines to 100 percent over the state limit.
