(Washington, DC) -- U.S. Senator Tina Smith is introducing a bill to reduce red tape for veterans seeking care for hearing loss.
Veterans seeking benefits from the VA must currently document that their hearing loss or tinnitus happened in the line of duty. Smith says the Veterans Hearing Benefits Act of 2022 aims to break down barriers to obtaining treatment benefits.
The bill is moving through the House before possibly heading to the Senate. Smith is hopeful the legislation will receive bipartisan support.
