Minnesota State Senator injured in snowmobile crash

(St. Paul, MN) -- A Minnesota state senator is injured after a snowmobile crash.

Authorities say Senator John Jasinski lost control of a snowmobile Friday and was ejected. Jasinski said in a statement Monday that he had sustained "three broken ribs, a broken pelvis, and fractured L5 vertebrae." Senator Mark Johnson was riding on a snowmobile behind Jasinski and struck the unoccupied snowmobile after Jasinski had been thrown. Johnson wasn't hurt.

The senators were participating with other lawmakers in Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association's Winter Rendezvous trail ride in the Brainerd area.
