(Minneapolis, MN) -- Prosecutors want Kim Potter to spend just over seven years behind bars.

NBC News reports that's what prosecutors requested while filing a sentencing memorandum against the former Minnesota police officer who shot Daunte Wright to death during a traffic stop last year. Potter was convicted of first- and second-degree manslaughter last year.

The former officer had said she meant to use her taser and not her gun on the 20-year-old Black man. Potter is set to be sentenced on Friday.
