FAIRMOUNT, N.D. — A man was arrested after a five-hour standoff with Red River SWAT at a home in Fairmount, ND Thurs. The  Richland County Sheriff's Office was attempting to arrest 24-year-old Adam Prochnow for a Tues. night fire at the Richland County Law Enforcement Center when he started his garage on fire.  No one was hurt during the standoff.  Negotiators were eventually able to convince Prochnow to give himself up.

Sheriff Larry Leshovsky says they've dealt with Prochnow in the past, most recently last summer when they had to take an AK-47 away from him.  Charges against Prochnow are pending for both incidents and federal charges are possible.

The Fairmount School was placed in lockdown for most of the day.
