(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota regulators are clarifying the legal status of hemp.

The Board of Pharmacy ruled Wednesday that trace amounts of the active ingredient in marijuana found in hemp products don't violate the Controlled Substances Act. The move ends the legal limbo that existed in the state for hemp and CBD products.

The federal Drug Enforcement Agency made a similar change as part of the 2018 federal farm bill, legalizing hemp cultivation.
