(Minnesota) -- The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that happened in Morrison County.

The shooting occurred after the West Central Drug Task Force attempted to stop a vehicle just outside of Bowlus. The BCA says a Minnesota State Trooper and an Otter Tail County Deputy "discharged their handguns". The shots fatally wounded a man in the vehicle and injured another. The BCA says a handgun was recovered at the scene.

The BCA says the Minnesota State Trooper involved in the shooting was wearing a body camera that partially captured the incident.  An investigation is still ongoing and is in the very early stages.
