(St. Paul, MN) -- Former Hormel Foods CEO Jeff Ettinger is being declared the winner by NBC News of the DFL nomination by for Minnesota's First Congressional District race.

He defeated seven other candidates for the nomination for the seat previously held by Congressman Jim Hagedorn, who died of cancer in February. The Republican primary is too close to call, with Brad Finstad and Jeremy Munson leading.
