Groundbreaking underway for soybean plant in Spiritwood

(Spiritwood, ND) -- The first shovels broke ground on a soybean processing plant in Spiritwood.

Lawmakers from across the state spoke about The $350 million dollar Green Bison facility, which will have the ability to process 150,000 bushels of soybeans per day. Companies like ADM and Marathon Petroleum Cooperation are partnering together on the project.

"This is an AG energy park, "said U.S Senator (R-ND) John Hoven, " It's nationally significant. If you go to these other states like Iowa, Nebraska, Indiana, they have these big AG energy parks. They create all kinds of opportunities for their farmers... Now we are rivaling what they are doing."

 North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum says the Green Bison facility will directly create 75 jobs, diversify the state's economy, and produce renewable diesel fuel. You can learn more by clicking here
