(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley is speaking out about the violent death of 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson.
Wrigley says that there is "no place in civil society for hateful violence." Shannon Brandt has admitted to striking Ellingson with his vehicle after a street dance and leaving the scene. Brandt says he hit the teen after the two had gotten into "a political argument" and he thought Ellingson was a "Republican extremist." Police say Brant also admitted he'd been drinking before the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
