Williston Fire Department: Oil Tank explosion leaves one seriously injured

(Williston, ND) -- Williston officials say they responded to reports of several oil storage tank explosions late Friday night. 

The Williston Fire Department says they received the reports at approximately 10:30 a.m on February 10th of an oil tank explosion north of Alexander along Highway 85. Authorities requested support from a department "water tender with firefighting foam capabilities" at approximately 11:03 p.m. The fire was eventually extinguished two hours later at 1:15 a.m this morning. 

Authorities treated a single victim with severe burn injures and transported them via air medical transport to a regional trauma center. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
