MnDOT distributes 725-thousand in Safe Routes to School Program Grants

(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation is distributing grants as part of the Safe Routes to School program.

Officials announced Tuesday that 23 communities around the state will benefit from 725-thousand dollars in grants.

Safe Routes to School is an international program to improve safety and reduce traffic congestion around schools.

The effort is designed to make it safer and easier for students to walk or bike to school.
