(Fargo, ND) -- Minnesota Congressman Pete Stauber is speaking out in support of proposed legislation aimed at increasing American energy production and energy exports.
"There will be more access for permits to drill for example in the Permian Basin in west Texas and northeast New Mexico. These are all things that we want and need," said Stauber.
Stauber talked about the newly introduced HR 1, the "Lower Energy Costs Act", which was recently introduced by Majority Leader Steve Scalise.
Stauber says the bill is also aimed at reducing regulatory burdens limiting energy production and increasing the production and processing of critical minerals.
"We can mine for example in northeastern Minnesota in the Duluth Complex which has the biggest copper nickel find in the world," said Stauber.
The congressman appeared on "What's on Your Mind" on AM 1100 The Flag.
