(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota lawmakers are moving forward with a bill that would freeze college tuition in the state.

The state Senate approved the state's higher education package Wednesday.

The over one billion dollar budget measure would allow for a maximum one-percent tuition increase for high cost programs at NDSU and UND by the fall semester.

The House has also previously passed the tuition freeze.
